Credit for Prior Learning Exam update

Submitted by Office of the Registrar

Attention current students: Kansas State University is in a policy and procedure transition regarding Credit for Prior Learning, or CPL exams. CPL exams include Advanced Placement, CLEP, DANTES/DSST and International Baccalaureate.

Through June 30, current students who send their CPL exam results to K-State will have a value of Exam Pass, or EP, applied to their record with no K-State GPA impact. During this time, a student may contact the Office of the Registrar at records@k-state.edu if they would prefer the letter grade articulated online applied to their credit and calculated into their K-State GPA.

Beginning July 1, current students will no longer be allowed to request letter grades for past exams regardless of when the test credit was received, and all CPL exams received at K-State will continue to be entered into the student record with a value of Exam Pass with no K-State GPA impact.

Any questions regarding CPL exams can be directed to records@k-state.edu or 785-532-6254.
