Power Down K-State competition results
The Energy, Behavior and Built Environment Lab recently hosted the Power Down K-State energy conservation competition between the residence halls.
The lab provided students with sustainability and energy conservation tips to help them reduce their energy consumption. The residents of Haymaker Hall won the competition and reduced their energy consumption by the largest percentage. Fifteen participants from Haymaker also won prizes, including nine $50 visa gift cards, 10 Varsity Donuts free doughnut coupons, and two tickets to the McCain performance of "100 Years of Broadway," a musical revue of Broadway's most popular show tunes. In addition, one participant was chosen to win a $150 gift card.
A special thanks to all participants and sponsors — including the Green Week committee, who made the competition one of their events — for making this competition possible. Additional sponsors of the event included Housing and Dining Services, McCain Auditorium, K-State Office of Sustainability, Varsity Donuts and Students for Environmental Action.
