Global Campus to offer two-day training for online teaching
Kansas State University Global Campus, in a collaborative effort with the Information Technology Assistance Center, Office of Mediated Education, Student Access Center, and Library Services, has created a training opportunity for those who want to learn more about teaching online.
The two-day event will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 9-10 in 306 Calvin Hall. The training is designed to cover the basics of online teaching, with the goal of covering the important elements of being prepared to teach in an online environment.
The training will feature presentations from the following K-State staff members:
- Shalin Hai-Jew, instructional designer, Information Technology Assistance Center
- Rachel Miles, digital scholarship librarian, Library Services
- Ann Pearce, assistant director, Student Access Center
- Hongfu Chen, information technology consultant, Information Technology Assistance Center
- Alice Anderson, instructional designer, Library Services
- Jahvelle Rhone, information technology consultant, Information Technology Assistance Center
- Laura Widenor, course quality coordinator, Global Campus
- Brandon Utech, instructional media administrator, Office of Mediated Education
- Rebecca Gould, director, Information Technology Assistance Center
While the training was originally focused on graduate students, Global Campus has opened it up to faculty and staff who are interested in learning more. Participants need to have a base knowledge of K-State Online powered by Canvas.
Note: This will not be a Canvas-specific training, and space is limited. Please RSVP by Aug. 4.
