Entire university internet outage early morning Aug. 10
Submitted by Division of Communications and Marketing
Required maintenance of K-State's firewall, the network security system, will cause a temporary shut down of all K-State internet systems, including websites, email and networks between 12:01 and 6 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, on all campuses.
This will disrupt all campus connections to the internet and will affect anyone on the campus network attempting to connect to services off campus as well as anyone off campus trying to connect to services hosted on campus. The university's internet should be operational after the firewall work is done.
If you experience connectivity problems at or after 8 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, please contact the IT Help Desk at 785-532-7722 or, if available, by email at helpdesk@k-state.edu. Progress updates will be posted periodically as available throughout the maintenance period to the IT Status Page. Progress also will be posted to the K-State IT Twitter page, which will become the default communication method if all internet is not functioning by 8 a.m.
