Grad Money Matters workshop: Maximize Your Money

Submitted by Kelsey Peterson

Does your financial situation as a graduate student cause you stress? You're not alone! More than half of master's and doctoral students surveyed by the Council of Graduate Schools reported financial stress and dissatisfaction with their financial situation.

In partnership with the Graduate School, Powercat Financial offers Grad Money Matters workshops exclusively for graduate students. A Maximize Your Money workshop will take place at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, in 121 Eisenhower Hall.

K-State's Powercat Financial can help you manage your money and reduce your financial stress for now and in the future. Trained peer financial counselors provide free, individual help sessions — in person and online — and educational workshops.

This workshop will cover how to establish a spending plan, the importance of establishing an emergency fund, tips for saving, credit vs. debit, how to look up your credit report and score, and what makes up your credit score.
