Total Rewards information for KAPE employees
During the first phase of transitioning employees to the university's compensation structure, Kansas Association of Public Employees, or KAPE, employees were not transitioned as an agreement had not been reached. Today, we are pleased to publish job titles and job descriptions for KAPE employees. This comes following an agreement being reached between the university and the K-State chapter of KAPE.
You may view KAPE job titles, job descriptions, salary grades and associated salary ranges and job families in the university compensation structure on the Human Capital Services website. Job titles covered by KAPE are included in the compensation structure alongside previously published job titles. The job descriptions are generic, and should not be confused with an employee's actual position description, which describes in greater detail the specific duties that may be unique to particular employees.
Early next week, KAPE employees will receive a letter with their personal Total Rewards compensation and classification information. Changes in job titles for KAPE employees will become official beginning Oct. 8. If you have questions, please work with your departmental HCS liaison.
Since the first phase of transitioning most unclassified professional staff and university support staff employees to the university's compensation structure, many tools have been provided to assist supervisors and managers. Human Capital Services encourages supervisors and managers to review and become familiar with resources made available to them.
The university's first priority has been to address employees who are below the 25th percentile in their grades. All employees on campus who were below the 25th percentile in their grades have now been raised above that level. This step reaffirms our commitment to paying employees fairly and equitably.
