K-State Salina faculty receive teaching awards
Submitted by Stephanie Jacques
Two faculty members at Kansas State University's Salina campus received awards at the spring commencement ceremony May 5.
Jung Oh, professor of arts, sciences and business, was awarded the Marchbanks Award for Teaching Excellence and Patricia Ackerman, associate professor of arts, sciences and business, was awarded the Rex and Jean McArthur Family Faculty Fellow Award.
The Marchbanks Award was established in 1983 to recognize a faculty member on the Salina campus for excellence in education with a focus on the development of students’ talents and abilities. Candidates are nominated by faculty, students and alumni, and must submit materials that justify that nomination.
The McArthur Award was established in 2006 to recognize a K-State Salina faculty member demonstrating teaching excellence in the classroom and a commitment to research and innovation, as well as honorable service to the college, university and community.
