NBAF moves forward
Submitted by Communications and Marketing
The National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility has taken another step forward.
The House Appropriations Committee budget includes $75 million for construction of the biosecurity lab being built on campus next to the Biosecurity Research Institute.
"This inclusion in the budget marks great news for NBAF and Manhattan," said Ron Trewyn, vice president for research. "Decision-makers in Washington recognize what an asset this facility will be for national security and the safety of the nation's food supply. At K-State, we recognize that, too, as well as what an asset NBAF will be for the university, Manhattan and the state of Kansas."
The committee's bill now goes before the full House.
