Sidewalks near three campus buildings to close Monday, Dec. 18
Beginning Monday, Dec. 18, some entrances to English/Counseling Services Building, Eisenhower Hall and Kedzie Hall will be closed to the public. The closures are to protect pedestrians while areas are being excavated to install new electrical components to these buildings. Work is expected to be completed before Jan. 12, 2018.
English/Counseling Services Building: The the main southeast entrance/exit doors will be closed and the sidewalk just outside these doors will be removed. Construction fencing will be installed. The southwest and north doors entrance/exit doors will remain open.
Eisenhower Hall: The main pedestrian sidewalk northeast of Holtz Hall will be closed for excavation of trench from the transformer on the west side of Eisenhower Hall to a manhole south of Regnier Hall. Pedestrians can navigate to the other parts of the campus by going around the west side of Holtz Hall or by going east of Eisenhower Hall. Please watch for detour signs and construction fencing.
Kedzie Hall: The sidewalk between Kedzie Hall and Calvin Hall will be closed to public access. Calvin Hall's north entrance/exit will remain open. Construction fencing will be provided to protect pedestrians during the excavation work.

These infrastructure improvements will upgrade K-State's aging electrical power grid and outdated electrical equipment to a more reliable electrical power source to feed campus buildings. Overall, this infrastructure work will take approximately two years to complete and will affect 18 buildings.
