Provost search update
Dear Colleagues,
I would like to provide the campus with another update about the progress of the search for our next provost. Your help so far by providing a number of nominations and contacts has been most welcome. Please continue to share prospects with our search consultant, Alberto Pimentel of Storbeck/Pimentel, at apsearch@storbeckpimentel.com
The search committee met on Dec. 15 to discuss what the search consultant has been hearing from prospects about the opportunity here at K-State and to finalize the promotion pieces and strategies. We have a lot to offer potential candidates, and Alberto and his team have been helping them gain insight about the campus and the community. He has heard a lot of positive feedback about being No. 1 in town-gown relations, a top community to live, the destination school in Kansas, and an amazing campus for students, faculty, and staff. More about the position may be found on the president's website.
While the search is still in its confidential stage, we anticipate selecting candidates for an airport interview in Manhattan in mid-February with campus interviews prior to spring break. Only after candidates agree to a campus visit will we be releasing their information to campus, available using your eID and password. I respect that the timing of campus interviews may interfere with classes and other activities; however, your participation in the open forums — in person or via webcast — and your feedback to the committee will be critical to a successful hire.
Thank you for continuing to make K-State the envy of our peers.
Go 'Cats!
