David Delker to serve as acting dean and CEO of K-State Salina

Provost April Mason has announced that David Delker will serve as the acting dean and CEO of the K-State Salina campus during July.
Dean and CEO Dennis Kuhlman officially retires on June 30; Delker will serve until and new Dean and CEO Verna Fitzsimmons begins her tenure at K-State Salina on Aug. 1.
Delker has served as aassociate dean for academics at K-State Salina since 2004. Prior to that, he has served the college and university as a faculty senator and has participated on a variety of committees and task forces, including as chair of the college course and curriculum committee. He worked in private industry before his career in education, and he has served as an electrical engineering consultant to a variety of companies.
He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, having served as Wichita Section vice president from 1996-1998. He also is a member of the American Society for Engineering Education and a program evaluator with the Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology
Delker is a 1973 graduate of the Kansas Technical Institute, now K-State at Salina, where he received an associate's of technology in electronic engineering technology degree. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in technical education from in 1976 and a master’s degree in electrical engineering in 1979, both from Oklahoma State University.
