National Academic Advising Association to host webinar today
The National Academic Advising Association's next webinar for the fall semester is titled “Key Issues for Academic Advising Administrators.” The webinar will be at 1 p.m. today in the Sunflower Room at the K-State Student Union.
Today’s academic advising administrators deal with many issues. Borrowing from the just released National Academic Advising Association monograph Academic Advising Administration: Essential Knowledge and Skills for the 21st Century, three academic advising administrators will discuss key issues administrators face today and highlight challenges administrators will face in the future.
Initial questions to be addressed:
- What do you see as the most important skills that advising administrators need?
- What do you see as the key issues that administrators deal with today?
- What do you see as the key challenges that administrators will face in the future?
The panelists will be Jennifer Joslin, director of the office of academic advising at the University of Oregon; Nancy Markee, director of the Academic Advising Center at the University of Nevada-Reno; William Torgler, assistant director of campus outreach and development at the University College Advisement Center at the University of Akron; and the moderator will be Charlie Nutt, executive director of the National Academic Advising Association at K-State.
