Ruth Dyer receives distinguished service award

The IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society has named Ruth A. Dyer, senior vice provost for academic affairs, the recipient of its 2011 Distinguished Service Award.
The Instrumentation and Measurement Society presents the Distinguished Service Award each year to an individual who has given outstanding service to the society and the profession. Dyer received the honor for outstanding service of 13 consecutive years on the society's Administrative Committee, including serving at various times as vice
president of membership development, publications, and finance, and for 15 years in leadership roles in the International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference.
Dyer received this award at the IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference in May 2012 in Graz, Austria. The award came with a $2,000 prize and a plaque.
