Higher education delegation from Indonesia meets with K-State faculty and staff
K-State's Office of International Programs welcomed an Indonesian higher education delegation on April 27. The group was sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.
The purpose of the delegation visit was to learn more about a land-grant institution structure and best practices; discuss partnership opportunities with K-State faculty staff and administrators; and compare areas of strength for future academic collaborations.
The Indonesia attendees:
- Mukhlas Ansori; director, human resources qualification, directorate general of resources for science technology and higher education, Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education.
- Ali Ghufron Mukti; director general of resources for sciences, technology and higher education, Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia.
- John Iskandar Pariwono; expert staff, directorate for human resources qualification, directorate general of resources for science tech and higher education, Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education.
The delegation met with April Mason, university provost and senior vice president; Beth Montelone, senior associate vice president for research; Rich Llewelyn, extension assistant department of agricultural economics; Grant Chapman, interim associate provost, Office of International Programs; Marcellus Caldas, associate provost faculty collaborations and educational programs, Office of International Programs; Wendy Mathews, assistant director of special programs and sponsored students, Office of International Programs; Mary Wood, English Language Program director and ELP staff; Leena Chakrabarti, English Language Program associate director for student services; Ketty Reppert, English Language Program associate director for academics; and Cary Chappell, English Language program instructor.
