Participants needed for prostate cancer heart health research study in Manhattan, Olathe, Salina or Wichita
Men who are currently being treated or have previously been treated for prostate cancer are needed for a study at K-State's Clinical Integrative Physiology Lab. This study can be scheduled at your convenience on June 2 at the K-State Olathe campus. Please reach out even if this date does not work. We are willing to make other dates available. For Manhattan, Salina and Wichita, we are open to schedule dates in June.
This is a 90-minute, single-visit study that is utilizing noninvasive ultrasound echocardiography to research the heart's ability to contract through all stages of prostate cancer, treatment, and survival. Subjects will be tested at rest and during some light stationary cycling. All participants must be nonsmokers and free of cardiovascular disease — stroke, heart attack and bypass surgery.
Contact Carl Ade, assistant professor in kinesiology, for more information at cade@k-state.edu or 785-532-1127.
This study has been reviewed by the Institutional Review Board and received approval No. 8861.
