Architectural engineering and construction science department awards more than $300,000 in scholarships and fellowships
The architectural engineering and construction science department hosted its annual scholarship and awards banquet May 4 at the Four Points By Sheraton Conference Center in Manhattan.
The department awarded 170 student scholarships and awards totaling nearly $300,000 for the 2018-19 academic year. Nine faculty fellowships totaling more than $35,000 also were awarded. In addition to the scholarship, award, and fellowship recipients and their guests, a total of 32 benefactors and industry partners were in attendance to present many of these awards.
"Our students and faculty have enjoyed a long history of support from alumni and industry design and construction firms, and the banquet is a tremendous opportunity for our award recipients to personally thank our benefactors for their generosity to our department," said Jim Goddard, professor of architectural engineering and construction science.
Goddard, along with Jane Cox, office specialist II, are the coordinators of this annual event.
