Theatre professor teaches course at Seattle university
Sally Bailey, professor of theatre, recently returned from teaching a one credit intensive course at Antioch University in Seattle, July 27 and 28, for the psychology department's drama therapy program. The course was This is Your Brain on Drama Therapy.
Eighteen students turned out to learn through action about how the brain functions and how it relates to learning and therapy, but specifically to drama therapy, which is an experiential/action mode of therapy which lends itself to embodied learning and change. In addition to students enrolled in the drama therapy program, students from art therapy and counseling programs and several licensed therapists who were earning continuing education credits took the course.
