Submitted by Human Capital Services-Learning and Development
The Americans with Disabilities Act, ADA/ADAAA, How to Manage Accommodation Requests, WTD076, will be offered from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 28, in 1092 College of Business Administration Building.
The university is committed to creating an inclusive workplace environment for individuals with disabilities. A part of that commitment under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act, ADA/ADAAA, for supervisors is to initiate an interactive process discussion when an applicant or employee requests reasonable accommodations or become aware of the possible need for an accommodation.
Participants will gain the following from the session:
- Describing the interplay between essential functions, medical restrictions, and reasonable accommodation under ADA/ADAAA.
- Identifying a reasonable accommodation request and when it is appropriate to initiate an interactive discussion for such requests.
- Interpreting policy and procedures and discuss confidentiality, timeframe and documentation.
This course is offered in conjunction with the Introduction to Supervision, WTD077, series. Seating is limited.
To register for this session, you can either sign up through HRIS self-service or send an email to Samantha Roberts at learning-develop-hr@k-state.edu. When sending an email, please include your name, employee ID and the course title.
