Free Career Center Cookout
The K-State Career Center invites new and returning students to start their fall semester with the Career Center Cookout.
Part of K-State's Week of Welcome for the past 13 years, the cookout will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, on the Berney Family Welcome Center north lawn.
Stop by the cookout to see Willie and enjoy lunch provided by Cox Bros. BBQ. Students who activate and update their online Handshake account will receive a free T-shirt while supplies last. Students and alumni can log into Handshake to apply for internships and part-time and full-time positions. Additionally, Handshake serves as a resource to find employer contacts and view who is recruiting on campus.
The Career Center Cookout is sponsored by Cox Bros. BBQ, Garmin, John Deere, ConocoPhillips, Koch and Phillips66.
On Thursday, Aug. 23, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Career Center also will host the Part-Time Opportunities Fair in the K-State Student Union Ballroom. Students can visit with area employers are about internships, part-time jobs and volunteer opportunities.
