Administrative management realignment for Office of Institutional Equity

Submitted by Office of the President

While continuing to report to the university president, the Office of Institutional Equity's dotted-line administrative management relationship will transfer from Human Capital Services to the chief of staff and director of community relations, effective immediately. This returns the office to its previous position wholly under the president's office, which best serves the university community's needs, follows federal guidance, and is more closely aligned with other similar institutions of higher education.

For now, the Office of Institutional Equity will continue to occupy its current space in Edwards Hall and the contact information remains the same.

K-State is committed to fostering an intellectually diverse student, faculty and staff environment that is rooted in respect and fair practices. The Office of Institutional Equity is engaged in training, outreach, affirmative action planning, equal employment opportunity compliance and conducting investigations in accordance with the University's anti-discrimination policy, PPM 3010, laws, regulations, executive orders and other applicable polices that uphold equal opportunity and civil rights laws. The Office of Institutional Equity serves as a resource for the university and coordinates fair, equitable treatment and practices to all regardless of race, color, ethnicity, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, ancestry, disability, genetic information, military status or veteran status.
