Rodriguez appoints search committee for two director positions

A search committee appointed by Associate Vice President for Student Life Adrian Rodriguez has begun the national search for two positions with K-State's diversity and multicultural student affairs:
- Director of intercultural learning and academic success
- Director of diversity and multicultural student life
"This is an exciting time for Kansas State University. As we seek to increase our recruitment and engagement efforts for multicultural students, we must have in place an infrastructure that will sustain these efforts," Rodriguez said. "These positions will allow us to meet these needs and to better support our diverse student populations at K-State. Moreover, these positions will allow us to create and implement a comprehensive cultural competency development effort for the university, and to further our pursuit to celebrate all members of the K-State family and the rich spirit and tradition that brings us all together as K-Staters. I am ecstatic about the future of Kansas State University."

Lindsey Fouquette, executive recruitment manager for Human Capital Services is serving as the executive recruiter.
The director of intercultural learning and academic success will play a key role in fostering cultural advocacy, civility, and intercultural learning, education and training development for Kansas State University. Additionally, this position will collaborate with faculty and staff to promote efforts to improve success rates for students of color and other marginalized communities.
The director of diversity and multicultural student life is responsible for promoting student engagement. This position will be responsible for providing academic and social integration opportunities for students of color and marginalized communities. Nominations and applications are now being accepted for this position.
The search committee will accept applications until Aug. 6.
