School of Family Studies and Human Services offers new student success center
Submitted by College of Human Ecology
The School of Family Studies and Human Services will now offer a student success center in 254 Justin Hall for all students in their programs. The center will house the school's academic advisors and student development assistant. Students can go to the success center for academic advising, minor enrollment, peer mentoring, workshops and more.
The HDFS peer mentor program, which began last year, is available to current students in the program and those that are interested in the human development and family science program or minor.
Shelby Boso, junior in family studies and human services; Andover; and Meghan Dyster, senior in family studies and human services, and Nate Faflick, junior in family studies and human services, both from Olathe, are the 2018-2019 peer mentors. They are available to assist on a variety of topics, including tips for enrollment and class scheduling, navigating the degree program, explaining KSIS and DARS, and questions about student life and campus resources.
Find the peer mentors in 245 Justin Hall. They are available during select times Monday through Friday. View a complete PDF schedule of availability.
