Geography colloquium Sept. 7 traces the evolution of research in land use science

Marcellus Caldas, associate professor of geography in the College of Arts and Sciences at Kansas State University, will present "The Evolution and Impacts of Land Use Science on My Research Profile" at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, in 1019 Seaton Hall.

Caldas' talk is part of the geography department's visiting scholar series and is sponsored by the Beta Psi Chapter of Gamma Theta Upsilon, the international geographic honor society and the geography department.

The geography department annually awards more than $25,000 in student scholarships, including $18,000 in undergraduate research scholarships to support research by geography majors in the summer.
