Submitted by Brent Fritzemeier
The National Strategic Selling Institute invites university students interested in sales to participate in K-State Sales Week through a variety of events taking place from Sept. 24-28.
Sales Week kicks off with the Corporate Partner Networking Event from 5:30-7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, in the College of Business Building Atrium. This is a great opportunity for students to expand their network and learn more about opportunities within sales from the corporate partners of the National Strategic Selling Institute.
Next, the Sales Career Fair will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, in the College of Business Building Atrium. Featuring 24 employers, the Sales Career Fair is open to all students and is a great opportunity for those looking for internships or full-time employment after graduation.
K-State alumnus and author of "Ninja Selling," Larry Kendall, will serve as the keynote speaker for Sales Week. His lecture, "Stop Selling. Start Solving." will take place from 4:15-5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, in the College of Business Building Lecture Hall. A reception will follow in the atrium.
The National Strategic Selling Institute is an established sales program in the marketing department in the College of Business at Kansas State University. Under the direction of Dawn Deeter-Schmelz, the program has been named one of the top sales programs in the country for seven straight years by the Sales Education Foundation. Students can earn a certificate in professional strategic selling, which is open to all majors in the university. The certificate program introduces students to the fundamentals of sales, and through the innovative curriculum and sales labs, allows students to develop the skills needed to be successful. Beginning this fall, K-State became just the 19th university in the U.S. to offer a major in professional strategic selling.
