Help spread the word: Open Cupboard for Cats' Cupboard next week
All faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in the Open Cupboard event, an open house for Cats' Cupboard: The K-State Food Pantry.
Open Cupboard will take place during the regular hours of operation, Oct. 15-19. According to pantry users, 60 percent indicated they learned about or decided to use Cats' Cupboard because a trusted person told them about the service. This is up 6 percent since the last Open Cupboard. As such, this open house event is focused on increasing knowledge of campus and community resources, pantry services, location, promotion of word of mouth marketing, and a food drive to keep shelves stocked.
To date, the Cats' Cupboard has seen more than 2,600 visits from almost 600 unique users since opening in September 2017 but we still need help spreading the word. Stop in, take a tour from a volunteer, donate if you're able, and enter the raffle for a chance to win great prizes. Open to all students, staff and faculty and community members.
Raffle tickets will be given to each visitor, and if you bring a friend, you'll receive an extra ticket.
Donate an item and get an extra raffle ticket. Donate a most-needed item such as canned chicken, canned fruit, or cereal and get two extra raffle tickets. Free food at area restaurants, unique gifts from local stores, and other items will be given as raffle prizes. If you visited last Open Cupboard, come see how we've grown.
Help us celebrate one year on campus. On Oct. 16, from 2-4 p.m. during Open Cupboard, Cats' Cupboard will celebrate the anniversary and World Food Day with cookies from the K-State Bakery Science Club and other refreshments.
