Two national awards of distinction within fraternity community
The North American Interfraternity Conference will recognize one chapter and one undergraduate as award of distinction recipients at the pep rally in City Park, following the homecoming parade on Oct. 12. The Alpha Upsilon chapter of Delta Sigma Phi and past president of the Interfraternity Council, Lucas Renz, will receive their awards in celebration of their efforts to better the fraternity experience.
"Delta Sigma Phi has been an exemplary chapter within the community, raising the bar on new member acclimation, education and awareness, and service to others," said Jordan Kocher, director of Fraternity and Sorority Life. "We are also so proud of Lucas Renz, who has won the first individual NIC award for our community. He brought much needed structure and passion during last year’s transition, and I am lucky to have served alongside him."
Delta Sigma Phi is the fourth chapter from the community to win an award of distinction. Delta Upsilon, FarmHouse and Theta Xi are past recipients in 2017, 2016, and 2015 respectively.
