Michelle Langvardt joins Office of the Vice President for Research
Michelle Langvardt joins the Office of the Vice President for Research today as executive assistant. Her duties include providing administrative support for Vice President for Research Peter Dorhout and Senior Associate Vice President for Research Beth Montelone, serving as liaison to the Administrative Support Center for accounting and human resources activities, and supervising student workers.
Langvardt has worked at K-State since 2006. Her most recent position was executive assistant to the senior vice provost for academic affairs, where her duties included managing bill payments; managing events such as commencement, leadership retreats, first Tuesday roundtables, and all-university award ceremonies; managing departmental documents for promotion and tenure, applications for sabbatical leave, and other personnel matters; and coordinating task forces and administrative searches.
"Michelle brings extensive institutional knowledge and excellent organizational and time management skills to our office, and we look forward to working with her," Dorhout said.
Langvardt replaces Stephanie Pierce, who has served in the role for the past three years. Pierce has taken a new position as an economic development specialist in the award-winning Knowledge Based Economic Development office, which works with leadership in the community and university to expand economic prosperity in our region based on technologies developed at the university or in partnership with the private sector.
Both Langvardt and Pierce retain the same email addresses, but their phone numbers have changed. Contact Langvardt at 785-532-5110 or mlr9988@k-state.edu. Contact Pierce at 785-532-3892 or smpierce@k-state.edu.
