JMC senior Rafael Garcia to present published work, 'A case study of a rural Hispanic newspaper in the Midwest'
"A case study of a rural Hispanic newspaper in the Midwest" by Rafael Garcia, senior in journalism and mass communications, and Gloria Freeland, assistant professor in the A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications and director of the Huck Boyd National Center for Community Media, was published in the winter 2018 issue of Grassroots Editor, the quarterly magazine of the International Society of Weekly Newspaper Editors.
Garcia and Freeland also will present their research at the annual Kansas Press Association convention in Topeka on Feb. 9. Garcia was in K-State's Developing Scholar Program and Freeland was his mentor.
