Movies on the Grass: 'The Truth about Tigers'
The last film in the series, "The Truth about Tigers," will be shown at 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, at the Chautauqua Amphitheater in the Sunset Zoo.
The tiger, India's national animal, is disappearing at an alarming rate from our forests. Government estimates reveal that there may be fewer than 1,500 left. Why have India's tigers declined so drastically? What exactly are the problems facing their conservation? And are there any solutions to the crisis? These and many other questions are answered succinctly in "The Truth about Tigers," an educational documentary by award-winning wildlife and conservation filmmaker Shekar Dattatri.
In case of rain, the film will be shown at the zoo's new Nature Exploration Center. For more information, go to http://www.k-state.edu/mog/.
