Join K-State's university records manager for Records Management Training

Submitted by Human Capital Services - Learning and Development

Have you ever cleaned off your desk or weeded your inbox and wondered if you're handling university information correctly? Would you like to avoid second guessing yourself next time you shred, recycle, file or delete work-related records?

Join Ryan Leimkuehler, university records manager, for Records Management 101 from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, in 126 Leadership Studies Building.

Leimkuehler will cover the basic information needed for university records creators and designees. Most K-State employees, including many student workers, fall into this category, and all are welcome to enroll.

His course will walk attendees through why records management is important, how to follow the university retention schedule, and what the legal requirements are when managing both paper and electronic records. It concludes with an in-depth discussion on how to identify records and the process of updating the university retention schedule.

To register for this session, either sign up through HRIS self-service or send an email to Megan Hoelting at learning-develop-hr@k-state.edu. When sending an email, please include your name, employee ID and the course title, Records Management 101. Attendees will receive credit in HRIS.

Additionally, if you have questions about the course content, contact Leimkuehler at rleimkue@k-state.edu.
