Music faculty to present at international conference

Frederick Burrack, Phillip Payne and Jeffrey Ward will present several conference sessions, panels and posters at the seventh International Symposium on Assessment in Music Education, March 19-22. The event brings together music educators from all levels of teaching, from elementary school to higher education, to explore the complex issue of assessment. 

Ward, director of the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, will present "Assessment Practices and Mission Alignment of Collegiate Divisional Community Schools of the Arts in United States Land-Grant Institutions."

Payne, chair of music education, and Ward will present "An Examination of Music Teacher Education Faculty Perceptions Regarding Indicators of Potential Success among Music Teacher Education Candidates."

Burrack, director of assessment, Payne and Ward will present "Guiding program improvement through intensified data analysis utilizing automated data collection and visualization dashboards."

Burrack and Payne will present a panel with Kelly Parkes from Teachers College of Columbia University, and Brian Wesolowski from the University of Georgia titled "An Emerging Language Supporting Current Processes of Assessment in Music Education.
