Grow your garden
UFM Community Learning Center is hosting a number of gardening classes for both novice and experienced gardeners in March and April.
Classes cover a wide range of gardening topics from permaculture and soil blockers to cool season plantings and warm season plantings. Related offerings include beekeeping, Bonsai, and growing daylilies for beginners.
If you're short on space, learn about space-efficient gardening or sign up for your own garden plot through the Manhattan Community Gardens at UFM. New gardeners can sign up to rent a plot at the Riley Lane garden at Ninth Street and Riley Lane in Manhattan or the Collins Lane garden at 1435 Collins Lane south of town. New gardeners must attend a sign-up session at UFM. Upcoming sessions will be at 5:30 p.m. Monday, March 18, and 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 13.
