Reception for Indonesian faculty visitors March 28
The English Language Program has been hosting a group of 33 visitors from Universitas Tanjungpura, UNTAN, in Pontianak, Indonesia, for a five-week professional development workshop. The visitors are professors and administrators representing various departments at UNTAN, including engineering, management, economics, forestry, law, architecture and medicine. All are invited to attend the closing ceremony and reception from 3-5 p.m. Thursday, March 28, in Regnier Forum at Regnier Hall.
During their time at K-State, the group attended seminars to enhance their academic writing and presentation skills in English and to learn about the U.S. higher education system. Some members of the delegation are seeking opportunities to collaborate with U.S. researchers, while others hope to pursue doctoral studies at an American institution in the future.
The English Language Program and representatives from UNTAN thank all the Kansas State University faculty and staff who generously shared their time and gave presentations or met with the visitors from Indonesia during their time on campus. The workshop participants look forward to personally expressing their gratitude to the members of the campus community. A reception with light refreshments and beverages will follow the short closing ceremony.
