Kuester discusses sports economics class during interview on SIRIUS XM
Dan Kuester, director of undergraduate studies in the College of Arts and Sciences' economics department, recently discussed K-State's sports economics class, ECON 524, during an interview with Brent Musberger and his co-hosts on the SIRIUS XM radio show "My Guys in the Desert" on the VSIN Network.
During the interview, Kuester talked about aspects of the sports economics class such as lessons on labor disputes, collective bargaining and public financing of professional sports stadiums. Kuester was asked to appear on the show to discuss his success in a free NCAA bracket contest.
Kuester also recruited the Sportsbook director at the South Point Casino to speak to the sports economics class in fall 2019 via Zoom. Previous guests include Jay Bilas of ESPN, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Andrew Maness of Pit Rho AI-Data Science Solutions, Vahe Gregorian of the Kansas City Star, and Brandon Blagg of the Milwaukee Bucks, among others.
The sports economics class is currently being offered every semester.
