Montenegro Cadena is the spring 2019 awardee of the KAWSE Postdoctoral Researcher Travel Fund
Lidia Montenegro Cadena, postdoctoral researcher in the entomology department, has been awarded the Kansas State Office for the Advancement of Women in Science and Engineering, or KAWSE, Postdoctoral Researcher Travel Fund for the spring 2019 round.
The purpose of this KAWSE Postdoctoral Researcher Travel Fund Award is to enhance the postdoctoral research experience and enrich the lives of women in science, technology, engineering and math, or STEM, disciplines. Awardees receive up to $500 to attend a conference in their area of research.
Montenegro Cadena will attend the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene Meeting in November and offer a KAWSE Career Chat for undergraduate and graduate students in STEM about the research networking experience at academic conferences.
