Music instructor presents at early music festival
David Wood, instructor of music and director of the early music ensembles in the K-State School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, presented on best social media practices for musicians during two career development sessions at the Bloomington Early Music Festival May 17-25 in Bloomington, Indiana.
The sessions were co-presented with the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music's Office of Entrepreneurship and Career Development and Early Music America. Wood serves as the marketing and special projects coordinator for Early Music American. Wood also participated in the management and livestreaming of several of the festival's activities, including seven Young Performers Festival and Emerging Artists Showcase concerts presented by Early Music America, which featured many of the finest university early music ensembles in the United States and Canada and emerging professionals in the performance of early music.
Faculty in the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance have received Grammy awards and nominations, and Emmy awards; produced recordings on international and national CD labels; published books and journal articles with international and national publishing houses and professional organizations; and performed and presented research in every continent in the world, except Antarctica.
