Powercat Financial receives IMA Foundation grant
Powercat Financial has received a $5,000 grant from the IMA Foundation.
The grant will be used to support the students serving as Powercat Financial peer financial counselors. It will provide additional operating funds for computers for peer counselors to use in client financial education sessions and necessary supplies for financial education programming.
Annually, the peer financial counselors provide group financial education to more than 6,000 students and individual financial counseling sessions to more than 600 students. Approximately 15 personal financial planning, business finance, accounting, economics and agri-business students serve the institution as peer financial counselors. An additional 30 students serve as members of the Powercat Financial student organization, supporting the mission of increasing the financial capability of fellow students as they transition from financial dependence to financial independence.
