Ideas for gifts, festive holiday homes, tables on menu at next university gardens luncheon series presentation

Lori Able, owner of Ann A Lee's in Manhattan's Grand Mere Village, will share ideas for the holiday season that will include decorations for a festive dinner table and home, as well as gift ideas. Holiday decorating is the next program Thursday, Nov. 8, in the 2012-2013 Friends of the Kansas State University Gardens Luncheon Series.
The public seminar starts at 11:45 a.m. with a buffet luncheon served at Colberts at the Colbert Hills Golf Course and concludes at 1 p.m., said Sharon Snyder, coordinator of the lunch series and fundraising chair for the Friends organization. Door prizes also will be given.
Admission is $30 per person. This includes lunch, a beverage and any educational materials. Net proceeds benefit the university gardens.
Advance paid registration is required by calling Anne Springer at 785-532-1442 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, or email spr@k-state.edu. Please make payment in advance to Friends of the KSU Gardens, 2021 Throckmorton Hall, Manhattan, KS 66506. Deadline for reservations is Friday, Nov. 2.
Snyder said other upcoming KSU Gardens activities include the annual poinsettia sale from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 13 and Nov. 28, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 5, all at the Quinlan Visitor Center, 1500 Denison Ave., Manhattan. Additionally, an open house is planned in conjunction with the Nov. 28 sale date.
