Hageman lectureship featuring Jeffrey Palmer

Jeffrey Palmer, distinguished professor and Class of 1955 professor at the Indiana University, Bloomington, will speak at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, in 120 Ackert Hall. He will present "Mitochondrial Sex in Plants: Mitochondrial Fusion Drives Horizontal Gene Transfer and Gene Conversion in the Devil's Playground."
The lecture is part of the Richard H. and Elizabeth C. Hageman Distinguished Lectureship in Agricultural Biochemistry.
A colloquium follows on Thursday, Oct. 25. "Plants as a model ‘system’ for comparative genomics, evolutionary biology, domestication and discovery research" will be from 9:30-11:30 a.m. in 324 Ackert Hall.
