Nominations open for Joey Lee Garmon scholarships
The Department of Diversity and Multicultural Student Affairs is accepting applications for the Joey Lee Garmon Undergraduate Multicultural Student Scholarship and Joey Lee Garmon Undergraduate Scholarship for Social Justice.
The Joey Lee Garmon Undergraduate Multicultural Student Scholarship is directed at students who come from ethnic groups that have historically and traditionally been excluded from academic opportunities and leadership roles as well as excluded from recognition of their leadership endeavors. The Undergraduate Scholarship for Social Justice is directed at students of any background with a strong record of social justice activism. Five total scholarships will be awarded: three Undergraduate Multicultural Student Scholarships and two Undergraduate Scholarships for Social Justice. Each award will be for $700.
The deadline is 5 p.m. Oct. 25. Turn applications in at 224 Anderson Hall or email to Michele Benevento at mbenevento62@k-state.edu.
