Murdie and Bell to present model to U.S. foreign policy agencies
The Council on Foreign Relations has invited Amanda Murdie and Sam Bell, both assistant professors in political science, to present a model that they have developed to forecast political instability within countries to a group of officials from U.S. foreign policy agencies in Washington, D.C., today.
The intent of the presentation is to introduce policymakers to social science tools that may help to bring greater understanding to events such as those that are sweeping across the Middle East and North Africa today. Only four forecasting groups from across the country were invited.
