Snyder Fellows to take the field on Saturday
Join the fifth class of Snyder Leadership Legacy Fellows at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, as they welcome the Wildcats on the football field to take on the Baylor Bears. The 2019-20 cohort will be recognized on the field as members carry out the Powercat flag for their continued engagement and dedication to leadership development.
The Snyder Leadership Legacy Fellows, a program through the Staley School of Leadership Studies, is a leadership development program for students in their final year at Kansas State University. Up to 40 students are selected to participate in the program, which is founded on Coach Snyder’s 16 goals for success. Students learn about leadership, are exposed to a variety of mentors, and volunteer in the local Manhattan community as they prepare for the transition from student to professional. "The 2019-2020 class of Snyder Fellows is exceptional — they are making a significant impact in our community by coaching youth teams through Manhattan Parks and Rec," said Kaitlin Long, administrator of student programs in the Staley School of Leadership Studies. "And, their focus on building their leadership capacity will allow them to impact their future communities and places of work."
The fellows' on-field recognition takes place amidst the Staley School of Leadership Studies' ninth annual Spirit of Leadership weekend, when alumni and friends of the program are invited back to campus to celebrate the school and re-engage with the school's mission: Developing knowledgeable, ethical, caring, inclusive leaders for a diverse and changing world.
