K-State hosts fall 2019 Big 12 chief diversity officers meeting
Since 2012, the Big 12 Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education has existed as a chapter of the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education. The Big 12 chief diversity officers meet twice a year, and K-State hosted the fall 2019 meeting on Oct. 7.
Its core membership consists of faculty and professional staff that are engaged in the work of diversity, equity and inclusion work at higher education institutions in the Big 12 Athletic Conference.
The association serves as a central network and resource that:
- Elevates and affirms the significance of diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in higher education.
- Facilitates mentorship and professional development for current and aspiring diversity officers.
- Provides a forum for dialogue, shared best practices and cross-institutional collaborations among its core members and others engaged in the work of diversity, equity, and inclusion among members.
