Entomology student finalist for national award
Ximena Cibils-Stewart, a master's student in entomology, is one of three finalists for the first Future Legend Award sponsored by the plant-insect ecosystems section of the Entomological Society of America. The award is a national recognition of students who have demonstrated significant achievement in entomology through research, teaching or outreach.
Cibils-Stewart adviser is Brian McCornack. She will be presenting her research upon which the recognition is based in a paper titled “Effect of canopy height and prey location on lady beetle (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) captures in soybean” at the annual meeting of the Entomological Society of America, on Nov. 12 in Knoxville, Tenn.
