Geography colloquium Dec. 6 showcases department's 2019 Steve Kale graduate fellowship recipients
Colleen Gura, doctoral student, and Abbey Marcotte, master's student, both in geography at K-State, will give their Steve Kale Research Fellowship presentations at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, in 1019 Seaton Hall.
Gura's talk is titled "Characterizing Influences on Short-Term Variation in Soil Weathering Rates"; Marcotte's talk is titled "Illuminating the Past: Application of Luminescence Dating to Fluvial Terraces at Kings Creek." Gura and Marcotte are the 2019 recipients of fellowships named in honor of the late Steve Kale, a 1970 graduate of the geography department at K-State.
Gura and Marcotte's talks are part of the geography and geospatial sciences department's visiting scholar series and are sponsored by the Beta Psi Chapter of Gamma Theta Upsilon, the international geographic honor society, and the Department of Geography and Geospatial Sciences.
