Kansas Board of Regents meeting university updates

The Kansas Board of Regents meeting on Dec. 18 included items related to Kansas State University. For more information on these items, see the December meeting agenda items announcement.
Consent agenda
The Regents approved K-State's request to create three new academic programs: an Associate of Applied Science in aviation maintenance, Associate of Applied Science in professional pilot and Master of Industrial Design.
Discussion agenda
The Regents received a report on job satisfaction survey findings from the Unclassified Staff Council and the University Support Staff Council. They worked with the Docking Institute to develop and conduct the survey on five of the state university campuses, including K-State.
Nine courses were approved as systemwide transfer courses among all 32 public postsecondary institutions offering the courses.
The Regents approved the housing and food service rates for the 2020-2021 academic year. K-State's typical housing rate will increase by a proposed 0.4%, which is an increase of $40. View K-State's FY 2021 housing and food service rates.
The Regents received a report on how fiscal year 2019 Educational Building Funds were spent and approved the allocation of funds for fiscal year 2021. K-State's fund allocation is $12,259,000.
