Science on Tap presents 'Life in extremes: What limits where animals can live?'
January's Science on Tap features Nick Barts, doctoral student in the Division of Biology, who will present "Life in extremes: What limits where animals can live?"
Science on Tap is held in a relaxed setting and features a brief, informal presentation by a K-State scientist followed by lively conversation. The goal is to build the community's enthusiasm for science in a fun and unique way.
The free, interactive program begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at the Tallgrass Tap House, 320 Poyntz Ave. Be sure to let the Tap House staff know you are there for Science on Tap.
Barts researches fish that live in extreme environments to understand how far life can push its limits. His work explores the traits that allow animals to survive in these environments to help explain why we don't find the same animals in every habitat. Join us and learn about some extraordinary survival strategies.
The event wraps up with a conversational Q&A period.
