Three K-State Recreational Services student employees and a K-State Police officer were recently recognized for their response to a medical emergency on Jan. 24 at the Chester E. Peters Recreation Complex.
Students Kennedy Brown, Ian Gash and Emme Tremaine and Officer Koharchik each played a part in the emergency by administering chest compressions and using an automated external defibrillator prior to emergency medical services arriving to continue care.
According to Riley County EMS, their actions were critical in a very positive outcome for the patient. EMS also presented each with a challenge coin as a token of appreciation for their efforts.
