Cheryl Rauh, program manager for the TRIO McNair Scholars Program, was elected as 2020 Kansas State Representative of the Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska, or MO-KAN-NE/MKN, Chapter of the Educational Opportunity Association. Rauh was sworn in on Nov. 11, 2019, during the annual conference.
In this role, Rauh's responsibilities include serving on the chapter's board of directors, the Membership and Certification Committee, the Fair Share Committee, and the State Representatives Committee. Charges for these committees include promoting membership, soliciting contributions from individual and institutional members for the Council for Opportunity in Education, and coordinating outreach to Kansas Representatives during the annual policy seminar in Washington, D.C. Rauh is also responsible for communicating the needs, concerns and interests of chapter members to the board of directors, coordinating statewide TRIO Day events, and communicating board and Fair Share information back to state members.
The role continues Rauh's previous engagement serving on the Research and Evaluation Committee for MO-KAN-NE in 2017 and on the MKN McNair Heartland Research Conference Committee in 2018 and 2019 for which she coordinated technology. She will be coordinating technology in 2020 for both the MO-KAN-NE annual conference as well as the MKN McNair Heartland Research Conference.
