Volunteers needed for electronic waste recycling event April 30
K-State is partnering with PSC Environmental Inc. for free electronic waste collection from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 30. This is K-State's first year to host the event.
PSC and K-State have secured many local sponsors to provide materials, equipment, in-kind services and monetary contributions for the event. We still need volunteers to help direct traffic, remove electronic waste from vehicles, box up electronics and distribute and collect surveys.
The event will be in parking lot D1, across from West Stadium and next to St. Isidore's Catholic Student Center.
A variety of electronics will be accepted for proper recycling at no charge. Accepted items are computers, cell phones, printers, scanners, TVs with screens that are 27 inches or less, gaming consoles, VCRs, DVD players and a many other electronic devices. Unacceptable items are TVs with screens more than 27 inches, console TVs, appliances and microwave ovens.
All net proceeds from this event support sustainability efforts on the campus and the international charity World Bicycle Relief.
